Spidey Senses for Halloween -- Holiday Decor Au Naturale

Oct. 25, 2015, Beaverton Ore.

This post is my entry to Kimo Stowell's Active Rain Halloween Bash "The Haunted Post Parade"

And what's more scarier than SPIDERS!?!

In a combination of web weaving this post is in honor of:

The scary tenant that I showed a rental unit a few weeks ago.  She inquired if she could "spray for spiders" inside the home because she lived in fear of them.  Then, she started to rattle off the names of most deadly  . . .  "the recluse" "the black widow" etc., etc.

With my eyes glazing over with her bwitchey incantation of her arachnophobia, I replied with:

"Hey, they're YOUR indoor cats"

She told me she had two, older indoor cats.  So, yeah . . . spray away!  Kill the indoor spiders of your fears, and also have your cats suck that poison up as well!

I didn't rent to her.

Soon thereafter,  I noticed a spider . . . in my house!  I let the spider stay in the corner of my family room, in honor of the scary tenant who would be terrified by it!

Here's the first location, location, location:

Then, he relocated . . .

The spider doesn't bother me.

And I don't bother it.

My home is decorated with REAL spider webs, and REAL scary freaking spiders!  How's that for a DIY project?  -- I didn't even do it!  I let nature decorate for me this year!

BOO!

And the outside is decorated quite nicely too . . .

City of Roses

Carla - shoot I just brushed down a bunch of spider webs on an outside alcove - that would have been perfect - like yours - let nature do the work!

I suck them up in the vacuum and then take them outside where they belong. Otherwise in my house they are likely to be eaten... by a cat.

Aloha Carla, you crack me up! I have a little corner where I let the spiders spin away. I like having them around to catch all the little buggies. Plus they're neat to watch. Mahalo for your sumbission to The Haunted Post Parade

Carla - spiders can be very useful. My son did a report on spiders for the science fair many years ago. He and we learned they are studied for many reasons including infertility. They do still scare me a little and I prefer they live outside.

Carla- I am fascinated by spider webs but hate walking through them. I do have to remind clients when they're selling their house that the spider webs need to go.

I'm not a tremendous fan of spiders, but I prefer not to have them in my house. I vacuum them up.

Carla,  I do not let the spiders in my home stay in my home. I do relocate them back outside.  I refuse to kill anything. All life matters.

Patricia Feager, MBA, GRI, Cert Negotiations Expert, Military Relo Prof  -- there's been a new pest in the area:  the White Ashfly.  I've lived in the area for 25-years and never noticed them . . . . . . because there weren't any!   About a year ago they moved here and now they are all over. The spiders come in handy!!

I don't like spiders, but that's probably because I had a big hairy one crawl out of my shoe as a kid.  I don't like to spray them, but I do stomp them pretty fast.
