WANT TO ESCAPE THE COLD WINTERS? THINK ABOUT A MOVE TO ARIZONA!

Want to escape the cold winters?  Think about a move to Arizona!  Deciding to move to a new state is a big decision.  Once you've had enough of the harsh winters and severe cold it's time to start thinking about it seriously.  Ask yourself what it is that you like in your current environment.  Arizona has a lot to offer and exchanging the cold weather for year round sunshine could be what you are searching for.

Many people will ask, “Doesn’t it get really hot there?” Yes, it does get hot here, but we have less humidity, so there are fewer mosquitoes then in other cities.  Unlike Chicago where I grew up, at night you can sit outside and not worry about being eaten alive.  Many of the homes being built today are incorporating the outdoor living space by building courtyards.  The temperature is hot from July to the end of October. When you live here, you learn to adapt in those 4 months, just as you would when living in the frozen tundra.  The city recreational parks hold evening baseball/volleyball tournaments and our communities plan events in the evenings when it’s cooler. We spend our days in air conditioned houses, cars and buildings and plan to do more outside in the evenings.  The malls even open their doors early for people that want to walk indoors and out of the heat.  There are not hours of time wasted on shoveling snow and scraping ice off our windshield. The other 8 months of weather are amazing and well worth waiting for!

Some people will also ask about the scorpions and snakes we have in Arizona. Sure scorpions are out here, however if you spray your home regularly like you would for any other insect, they are easily maintained.  Always be aware of your surroundings and if you notice one, step on it just like any other bug.

When you have children; education is another thing to consider when moving. Arizona’s Department of Education ranks each school district and Charter System.  You can view the top-ranked individual schools here.  The decision to move our family to AZ was the right one for us!

Arizona is located close to many mountain areas so we can easily escape the heat by taking a short road trip.  Arizona snow-bowl is just 3 hours north and is a great place to ski! Check out their website at http://www.arizonasnowbowl.com/
