The Buffaloe's of Milligan

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Checkmate 260532

Recently, around the town of Johnson City, statues of Buffalos have been popping up everywhere.  At fBuffloveirst, with just one in my sight, I though it was just a cool statue, but as the week-end turned to Monday, I saw these buffaloes turning up everywhere.  Well, I must explore.  Milligan College, here is Elizabethton Tennessee, has the mascot of Brutus the Buffalo.Pebbles   He was named due to the college being located at the base of the Buffalo Creek, shadowed by Buffalo Mountain.  (It truly is a lovely area).    Well I have learned , these buffaloes are part of the 150 year anniversary for Milligan College.  As part of the Buffalo Stampede City Art Project. Milligan College has commissioned six life sized , artistically decorated buffaloes for display in the community.  Yes it is, A buffalo stampede!

Cindy- I love projects like this because they help to tie a community together. I think some areas have had those cows!

They are definitely a lot larger than the flamingos that arrive in flocks for special occasions.  Can't you just see it,  You've been buffaloed

Cindy, that must be pretty spectacular!  We have a herd of live buffalo roaming just west of downtown Denver in the foothills.

That's really fun!

We had life-like statues appear around town about a year ago. There was a statue of a woman carrying groceries, a many fixing a sidewalk, two kids eating ice cream. They were fabulous!

Hi Joan,

I bet that is a sight to see!

Hi Wayne and Jean, I love that type of art.  It just fills much needed space with beauty for those around to enjoy and get the mind working.
