Thursdays on the Island

It's Tuesday, but I'm already looking to the end of the week. There's a lot happening on our little island on Thursdays, including lots of live music (including Open Mic Night at our bar and grill) and the opening of our favorite breakfast-and-lunch restaurant, Palmer's Village Café, for dinner through the weekend. For the island's real estate people, however, Thursday means REALTOR open houses on Saint Simons Island. Each week I try to visit as many as I can, ostensibly to learn as much about the market as possible. Maybe it's just because I'm new, but I still find each house a fascinating study in architecture as well as lifestyle and personal taste. Thursday has become my favorite day of the week, and not just because it's the gateway to the weekend.
