San Diego Fun for November 2015

 

A ride in memory of Point Loma Rotary fellow Jim Krause who unfortunately passed away 2012 from pancreatic cancer. This event is organized  to raise awareness and funds to research and hopefully one day, a cure. There will be a 10-mile Family Ride, 25-mile Enthusiast and a 62-mile Metric Century.

The Mother Goose Parade is the largest, single-day event in San Diego County and one of the biggest parades of its kind west of the Mississippi. Generally there are over 100 entries featuring clowns, floats, bands, equestrians, giant balloons, and Santa Claus.

The emphasis of this fall festival is focused on arts, handmade crafts, antiques, and ethnic imports, but there will also be commercial vendors present. Along with many different vendors there will be children’s rides and two stages of live entertainment.

November 26, Annual Father Joe’s Thanksgiving Day 5K Run & Walk 

 

San Diego’s original and longest-standing Thanksgiving Day run. Join over 10,000 participants and spectators for one of the most family-oriented holiday traditions! Event offers a post race festival featuring: live music, beer garden, costume contest and award ceremonies. Most importantly, this event provides a great atmosphere for your family to participate in the beauty of giving back to others.

More than 10,000 runners and walkers of all ages are expected to “move their feet before they eat” at the 10th Annual Pacific Marine Credit Union O’side Turkey Trot set for Thanksgiving Day. The race also directly benefits the Move Your Feet Before You Eat Foundation, a charity founded by to promote physical activity among youth.

 

Time: 10K / 5K runs will kick off at 7:00 am / 8:20 am respectively

The 36th San Diego Jazz Fest over Thanksgiving will present a variety of traditional jazz music, from ragtime to swing to dixieland at the Town & Country Resort and Hotel in Hotel Circle. Jazz bands and musicians from across the U.S. will perform.
