Welcome to the end of October, and the time the September sales and market report statistics are released by the Door County Board of Realtors. After a very stagnant year in 2014, the market is improving in 2015, and the fourth quarter promises to be even busier.
Statistics as provided by the Door County Board of Realtors via the Door County MLS are:
Door County Median Home Price through the month of September increased +10.5% from $182,500 in 2014 to $201,750 in 2015.
The Volume of Sales through the month of September increased +44.7% from 47 sales in 2014 to 68 sales in 2015.
Door County Median Home Price Year to Date through the month of September increased +20.0% from $170,000 in 2014 to $204,000 in 2015.
The Volume of Sales for Year to Date through the month of September increased +20.1% from 334 sales in 2014 to 401 sales in 2015.
This is INCREDIBLY positive news for Sellers, but also for Buyers---it's time to get off the fence and buy. While we may never see pre-recession prices, we are getting rid of a lot of inventory that has been on the market for a long time--a sign that things are improving. NOW is the time to buy. Sellers, if you think winter is slow and a time to come off market--it isn't. We were as busy this last week of October as we are in July.
If we can help at all with your Door County property sale or your Door County property purchase, let me know! 2015 is going to go down in the books as a great year, and we have set the bar even higher for 2016! Right now might be the perfect time to buy the Door County home, condominium or vacant land you've been waiting for--before prices continue to rise to the point where properties aren't as affordable. It's a great time to buy or to sell, be sure to give us a call!
