Coming into another Minnesota winter, watching the clouds finally break up backlit by the sun that has hidden the entire day..and I decided to look up my friend Theresa Eckholm on AR. I know Teri stays on top of her blog and her social media with a wonderful rythym that I just cannot seem to achieve! At some point I need to ask her if all that keypunching and researching and lovely compiling brings in clients!
I am an on again off again blogger, an on again off again contributor to the local newspapers and radio shows. I am somewhat lackadaisical on tracking if those activities bring me business, but I seem to do ok in this conglomeration of rural communities I call my stomping grounds.
I read, I research, I most likely think too much about what is affecting real estate, my clients, my family who depends on my ability to continue to provide services to the best of my ability to a plethora of personalities needing a hugely varied skill set..divorces, estates, first time buyers..lenders overlays, county zoning regs..it's mind boggling sometimes, but only if I let it be.
I tend to be more verbose in the winter. Probably because there are less people to talk to..the home office is warm, the dog on my toes, the clouds attract my attention a little more. A few less frantic buyers and sellers needing to see me immediately. Winter is when I signed up to be a Rainmaker with every intention of beginning a disciplined approach to writing and attracting clients with my impeccable knowledge and wit. Then I forgot about it. I have been a member of AR since I believe around 2009. I used to come to the site in it's early days excited to hear and share stories no one in the family could even comprehend. I see there are still some pretty great tales out here in the agentsphere!
I hear there is excitement here since Mr. Ben Kinney has purchased the site. I am excited to see Localism restart, I loved that part of the old AR. I like to take pictures. Maybe Teri will be a good example for me and I will have someone tell me that they found me on Active Rain blogging, and the winter will be just a little warmer!
