There sure have been a lot of agents newly getting into the real estate business these past couple of years, which is a normal reaction to a healthy market. Our office is busting at the seams with newbys. It's normal to be excited, enthusiastic and full of big ideas and great expectations.
Pretty quickly, reality sinks in. The phone doesn't just start ringing. The pay checks don't show up every Friday. Say what?
Hang in there! To be successful, it just plain takes a while. It takes getting up, showing up and sustained effort with a never-give-up attitude. One thing I discovered as time went by was that I could and SHOULD trust my gut instincts. I may have been new to the business, but I had been around the block a few times. I wish I would have realized sooner that, although I was a real estate rookie, I was a smart, capable, competent woman and I knew stuff. I should have trusted my own instincts more and relied less on needing input from others.
So as you move forward, hold on to your vision for your real estate business. And trust your instincts, they will serve you well!
