THE BIG MEGA TEAM OR INDIVIDUAL, RIGHT, WRONG OR JUST INDIFFERENT?

I have always worked as an individual since 2000, Back in The Day, Experienced Agents were very helpful and eager to help guide along new agents, I got valable tips, tricks & experience with some very AWESOME agents...when I was with a certain other firm in the past, they would have you believe "Mega Teams" are the way to go...I am pretty happy with my business, I still have "Dreams" of more production, but I am not hurting...I guess you call this Living The American Dream right? Lately I have seen more and more Teams of 10, 15, 20 people...but all under ONE person's name...it begs me to ask the other people, don't you care that these clients aren't really YOUR clients? They are the clients of the ONE persons name...

I guess my thinking could stunt my growth, certainly if 20 people all close property under 1 name...it would make me look like a small timer...but then I look at a few agents that have done this for a long time, they maybe have 1 assistant & 1 buyers agent...and still kick butt against people who must have the team of 10 to do the same amount...

Where the day may be tedious, I want to touch every file, I want to be engaged in every closing, it is not just my name in front of those buyers and sellers I represent, it is my blood, sweat and tears...with each client...sometimes theONE from the team of 20 never even know these folks that used their services...that just isn't me...

For some, the Mega Thing works...If you must see 100 Million next to your name, that is for you...but know it is likely the work of the other 19 people, all closing their fair share...and usually I have found alot of turn-over once people figure out they can close $5M a year and take home more than 50%....I have always liked my name on the sign...call me crazy...

Whether its 25, 35, 50 or 100 transactions a year, if it's my name attached to the file, those clients are my clients and I feel compelled to make sure I meet their every confidence...there is no turn over this way, & I only have myself to be accountable to my biggest assett, My Clients-to whom I am very grateful for every year.

Melissa,
I guess it is just a difference in personality why some of us fly solo (with back up) vs. in a team.
