When I saw the contest for Dick Greenberg regarding Wallpaper, I took a double take. It said Show Us Your Wallpaper?
I thought wallpaper. what is he talking about. Is it coming back. Where is he going with this? Then it hit me. Like it or not, wallpaper is here to stay. It just changes mediums. In fact I do have wallpaper on three devices.
My laptop, my iPhone and my iPad.
What an interesting contest. What an angle. Gosh I love creative minds! Can you imagine how this would do on Facebook? Imagine how people might engage and connect and comment. Heck 113 Active Rain Members have already commented on Dick Goldberg's contest post.
My Facebook Status would read."I will show you mine, if you show me yours!"
Here is what my wallpaper looks like:
On my laptop- my work computer is this photo. Everyday I have the pleasure of working with my identical twin sister Patty Blackwelder. We are the Twins Selling Real Estate and even though she is the more serious of the two of us. I just love this photo. This is us at our finest. Bouncing idea's, boosting each other up, supporting one another through every challenge, road block, speed bump. We don't drink...we laugh. It's the best medicine. We don't fight we negotiate and agree to disagree or one opts to handle the challenge at hand. I am the creative, visual mind and she is the analytical, practical centered one. I list homes and do the marketing and she helps home buyers. Together we make a great team.
Now my iPhone is very personal. It is my lifeline and with that said this is the photo. This is my husband Bill and myself when do us the best. On vacation, relaxed and unplugged from the world once a year. Actually that needs to change...we need a little more balance. This was taken last January. It seems like so long ago. So much has happened since then. My husband ( My Rock) was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. The kind the Dr's said to just take a wait and see attitude. That was in June 2014. By May of 2015, that wait and see plan backfired. The cancer was more aggressive my husband and I were told he had possibly 5-6 years to live. Thankfully we are close to John Hopkins. I have never been so thankful for the Internet in my life. One late I found a video that spoke to my core. I knew it was the answer. We made an appointment, they confirmed that the cancer was advancing but knew they could get it. Surgery followed. Four months after his Radical Prostatectomy, Bill my rock is now CANCER FREE! Since that scare we made a decision to sell our older home and buy a newer home with less maintenance and to start enjoying as much time together as we can. We know we dodged a bullet!
Side note: It doesn't cost a penny more to hire the best, most experienced professional. I use that line in real estate everyday now.
This is the wallpaper on my iPad. My iPad is my used when I am sitting in the chair watching a little TV. It's what I bring on vacation with me. It is what I bring to Open Houses and have in my car when I need more than my iPhone. This is to remind me to stay focused during the slower months. To always remember that someone in my travels daily is dreaming of buying a home or moving to bigger or smaller home. They may be to timid to say anything now know what to ask or how to get started. This helps to always remember that home ownership matters and that I can help someone attain their goals and make wishes come true. You don't need Santa Claus you just need a good REALTOR®!
Well that's a little about me. Thanks Dick for such an interesting contest. I am off to read some of the entries and to comment and learn more about each Active Rain member. Cool Contest! A+ for creativity and getting people to interact!
