Hey ActiveRain Peeps, someone needs our help.......

For those of you that may not know, Kokku.org is a charitable foundation that I founded earlier this year.  You can read all about Kokku at www.kokku.org

Kokku.org has a new recipient this month who needs our help.

Bonnie Gordon is 69 years old and works as a part time caregiver for clients with Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy and those with mental challenges. She lives in the Santa Barbara area and works five days a week and cleans houses on a sixth day. She has Signet Cell carcinoma in her bladder. The bladder has to be removed as soon as possible. She has a very small savings that will be depleted quickly. Her surgery will require her to be hospitalized for one week with a recovery period expected to be three months. Her doctor has told her she cannot work during her recovery. She is unsure how much her health insurance will cover but she is most concerned about her expenses during the three month recovery period. She has already had two recent surgeries trying to save her bladder but they were unsuccessful.

Bonnie started chemo and radiation for her Stage 4 cancer this week. She is trying to continue working as a caregiver through this but she is going to need some time off as the treatment progresses.

Because of the medical expenses, she uses the money in her IRA to pay rent so she only has about three months worth of rent left in her IRA. She also has an old car so has insurance expenses there and gasoline.

Bonnie is a good person and tries her best to support herself. She has a daughter with two children who live in Berlin, Germany. Unfortunately Bonnie’s daughter does not have the financial capacity to help much. Bonnie has a good network of friends who step in to help her.

Let’s bring the Love and Caring of the Kokku Community together for someone who dedicates their life to helping other people.  On the mobile site, m.kokku.org, you can click on the "Make a one-time donation".  Consider becoming a member also!  It entitles you to suggest someone in your area for the monthly funds.

Go to www.kokku.org and click on the donate button. You'll see Bonnie's bio right at the bottom of the home page with the donation link. You're transactions are safe with Authorize.net.

Good morning Ralph. Wow, she really cares about others, will handle a donation for her. I wish her all the best going forward. Nice job getting the information out.
