I recently gave two buyer customers a tour of the island while I showed them houses in a number of neighborhoods. They seemed to enjoy our outing, and they absorbed a lot of information while I learned about their interests. During our lunch break at Tramici (everything on the menu is terrific, but try their pizza!) they asked questions about two subjects, riding horses and buying health food, that I knew very little about in regards to our island. I welcomed the opportunity to learn some new things and I emailed them what I found out.
My family has been trying to eat more healthily, but I had depended on our two great grocery stores (Winn Dixie and Harris Teeter) for our shopping. I finally visited the Island Natural Market, a wonderful store that I had driven by dozens of times. I purchased some great produce and, in the interest of research, a delicious smoothie. I felt comfortable recommending this terrific resource.
A beautiful feature of our island is the site of the old Sea Island Stables, a magnificent two-acre grove of ancient live oak trees that is now protected by the St. Simons Land Trust. I knew, therefore, that we have an equestrian history, and a few emails and some Googling reassured me that today we have many places to board horses and also a full schedule of shows and other riding events. I was happy to report this to my buyers, too.
I am always happy to learn something, especially something that may enrich my own life. I am glad that my new career provides so many opportunities to gather information!
