Brokers’ Tour: Stop #4

This brokers’ tour has brought about many firsts for me. This tour marks the first time I’ve seen a shocking pink bedroom. So many folks repaint with neutral colors when their house is on the market, that colorful rooms aren’t the norm. I have to say, in this case, it definitely worked. I also think that white or eggshell as a primary color, then accented by the hot pink would be a bit easier on the eyes and still provide that bright touch to the room. The teen who lived in this abode must feel very sophisticated indeed in her bold boudoir.  That being said, the next homeowner is likely to make a change to something a bit more conventional. Brokers' Tour 4: Pink Room 1

I recently read an article that said bold and brightly painted wall were making a comeback. I’m still on the fence and believe that it varies on a case-by-case basis. What are your thoughts? What crazy rooms have you guys seen lately? Let me know in the comments!

I would advise the sellers to paint that room.  It's not working for me.

Karen - I'm with you, and would think that more neutral walls, with perhaps one having the darker accent would have been sufficient. The all-pink walls in a bedroom (smaller room) would be a little overwhelming.

I agree that neutral colors are usually best, but when house hunting I remember walking into an equally bright and colorful home, and thinking "wow, that's a lot to take in, but really, really well done".  Sometimes, it can work!

Tammy, I wonder how many coats of paint it will take to cover!

Troy, I have seen some color schemes that actually work so well, but I don't think this was one of them ;)

John - I certainly can see how a pre-teen would love this room, but it's such a strong statement. One that may wear thin too soon.
