Turkey – Make sure you leave plenty of time to thaw your turkey if you purchase a frozen one! Decide which recipe you’ll be using to cook your turkey and plan accordingly. The general rule for cooking a turkey is 13 minutes per pound. 

Stuffing – One of the most popular dishes on the menu. It’s also the dish with likely the most variation from one family to the next. Make it your favorite way, or multiple ways, to keep guests wanting more. 

Vegetables – With so many delicious winter vegetables available, it can be hard to pick just a few to cook up. So why not try a medley? Roasted squash, Brussels sprouts, and winter salads will perfectly accent a well-rounded Thanksgiving meal.

 Carbs – Don’t forget to include mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, or some baked bread for some yummy and down-home comfort. 

Dessert – Oh the routes you can take when planning dessert! Consider taking a poll to ensure there is something available for everyone. Or make dishes that include a variety of options so both the chocolate-lover and fruity-appreciator are satisfied.

Place Settings – Have fun with decorating the table. Since this will likely be where you spend most of your time, incorporate fall colors and festive arrangements to accompany the amazing meal you have prepared. 

Centerpiece – It can be fun to have a centerpiece on the table, which highlights the theme of the evening: Thanksgiving. There are many traditional centerpieces you could incorporate such as a cornucopia and fall leaves. But be sure to add your own touch to include a special meaning for you and your guests.
