When going on a real vacation- - three is a crowd

I am going on a short (too short) one week vacation in the near future. What is NOT going is my Laptop or smart phone, three is a crowd.

A couple years ago I did the same place and thing with my wife. It was wonderful! The other agents in my office could not grasp the idea of UNPLUGGING!

This year I am going the same place with my wife and are taking our 2 broke but deserving college grad daughters with us! I made it clear to them NO devices coming along. This is quality family time in a foreign country for a short time, take it all in! They are totally on board it!

Last year I took a daughter and her best friend along.It was a forein counrty and her friend had never been out of the U.S. before. Her friend spent the whole time staring at her phone. Never mind my daughters feeling about this. Can you guess who did NOT get an invite this year.

How can it be a vacation if you stay plugged in? What did we do before cell phones and laptops? WE UNPLUGGED and it was a true vacation. Your Thoughts?

Nina: Done it before! If it was a few weeks that would be different. If I unplugged I would still check in every few days. This is one where it will be 1 week of NO contact.

Not even a cell phone? I would be lost without it, but have adapted in case of lost signals. Take a camera and bring back some great photos!

KUDOS, but I have never truly unplugged from Mexico to Canada, or even Europe. There are internet cafes to check in. My replacement agent that watches my business knows I will check in on occasion. Have fun!

Joan: Its only a week I don't care. If it was longer I would leave the gear home and check from an internet cafe, just know if its bad news then vacation is mentally over.
