Santa Barbara Ridgeback Shrimp is in season once again, and we instantly joined the queue to buy some for tonight's dinner, ($6 a pound).  You toss them in boiling water for less than 3 minutes.  We will be dipping them in melted cultured salted French butter from Brittany.

Peppers with a kick were also another highlight at the Santa Barbara Farmers Market this morning.  These golden Manzardo peppers pictured above are very mild, and they are beautiful!

And of course, there are these really the hot ones, the habaneros, are just lovely too.

Wishing you all lots of Saturday Smiles,

Alexandra, The shrimp look big and delicious. The peppers I suspect will be delicious as well. As i have said in the past you folks have a wonderful Farmers Market.

The golden Manzardo peppers look similar to Scotch Bonnet peppers, which are pretty hot.  A person could have a little fun with their friends, if they threw a couple of Scotch Bonnets in with those Manzardos.  But, not this weekend.  The world needs to be a more gentle place!

Marco Giancola these come from our Channel Islands, and they live in our waters, which is why we call them Santa Barbara ridgebacks.  We first bought them at the Santa Monica Farmers Market when we lived in Los Angeles, and the vendor had a big sign Santa Barbara Shrimp.  You had to get in line as soon as possible, they would be gone in less than 30 minutes.  A

I love shrimp. I don't have those beauties, but I will be making a shrimp dish tomorrow for dinner.  I'm looking forward to it.

Myrl Jeffcoat indeed, we need a gentler word.  We toasted France and our French Friends with a bottle of French Champagne.  We contributed to their economy a little bit.  A

I am new to this brand of shrimp, and my mouth is watering at the idea of dipping in salted French butter, oh my.

I am having leftover shrimp in a Thai sauce that I make that is always yummy with stir-fried vegies. Easy sauce that has butter, soy sauce, fresh squeezed lime juice, garlic, brown sugar and chili pepper flakes. Soooooo good!

Happy Sunday to you and your sweet fam...

Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Realtor (503)755-2905  they are our local shrimp, and they are plentiful right now.  The dolphins eat up to 90lbs a day, and the whales eat them also.  They are really delicious and tasty!  Your lunch sounds great, and I think I am getting hungry.

Regards to Larry, and the pups and Rocky.  Big Ehugs coming your way.  A

James Dray I have never liked really, really hot peppers like the habaneros.  Some people have the tolerance for it, but I don't.  I like the milder ones.  The shrimp are superb, it is no wonder that our dolphins eat 90lbs a day of these and other ocean delights.  A
