Hi, real estate agents. I saw a youtube advertising video about a simple mileage tracking app named MileIQ. It's interesting features led me to test this application for the last few months and the results are great. I can't wait to share with you. Note: this is a non-affiliated product review.

Application name: MileIQ

Use: It automatically tracks miles for real estate agents with detailed trips and destinations, so that you can easily categorize your miles.

Cost: It is free up to 40 drives per month, or $5.99 monthly for unlimited drives.

Direction of Use: it will automatically record every trip when you stop the drive, all you have to do is to swipe left or right to categorize it for personal or business use. The date are recorded in the cloud on your account, so you can print or review them online on any devices.

Here are the real results and statistics after I used it for 2 months from September to October, 2015.

Total miles driven: 4,909.

Total business miles driven: 3,079.

Total personal miles driven: 1,830.

Total value for tax deductible: $1,793.38. (This does not include medical expense miles that I forgot to include, which can be also deducted for tax purposes. I simply didn't know medical miles can be worth 23 cents per mile.)

Total gas I spent from September to October: $461.80. (This is all the gas I spent for 2 months, maybe because I'm driving a Toyota Corolla. It's very economic.) Since we have to prorate the cost if we use exact expenses instead of mile tracking. My total deductible expense would only be $289.65 if using exact expenses.

Result: Using MileIQ increase my tax deductible from $289.65 to $1,793.38, and all trips are detail recorded. I drive more than 40 trips per month, so I'm currently paying $5.99 per month for this app, but I'm very satisfied with the function and usage of this simple iphone application.
