A little "Comfort Food" is needed today - Boeuf Bourguignon!

By
Real Estate Agent with Sotheby's International Realty Canada - Brokerage

Today is a day that calls for some warm and cozy comfort food!   The weather is dark, damp and dreary and the mood is somber and sad . . .

Let's get the house smelling good and have something cozy and comforting ready for dinner tonight!

A nice and rich Boeuf Bourguignon . . .

Cubes of nice marbled beef, browned in bacon fat

A good bottle of Pinot Noir

Pearl Onions and button mushrooms

Bay Leaf Carrots Parsley Thyme Garlic   mmmmmmm  ...

Brandy is always a nice addition

Can you breathe in the tantalizing aroma?  A simple side of salad and fresh baguette ?

Are you craving comfort food today?

Nice Susan, this sounds like a dish I would love. The colder weather calls for comfort food.

I've enjoyed Julia Child's recipe along with some french bread many times on a damp chilly day.

Sounds delicious. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us. I imagine this is your nod of solidarity: a French recipe to support the nation of France today?

Larry Johnston    Beef Bourguignon  - Bourguignon means as prepared in Burgundy,.

The secret to meltingly tender beef is all in the right cut: a well-marbled cross-rib pot roast. Bourguignon means as prepared in Burgundy, a district synonymous with Pinot Noir wine. So it makes sense to use a Burgundy or New World Pinot Noir both for braising and serving.
