Hard to believe that we are just days away from Thanksgiving. The day after Thanksgiving has traditionally been nicknamed "Black Friday" by the retail world. Originally named because it often represented the first time the local retail stores would actually be able to show a profit for the year. In other words financially they moved from the Red to the Black.
Some people really dislike "Black Friday" and try to ignore it. Our family has been heavily involved in the Retail world so we have come to enjoy the day. My daughters loved getting up early and waiting in line for those special bargains. I enjoyed hanging out with them. We would dress warm stop for coffee and get in two or three lines depending on where the bargains were.
I really liked getting the thick newspaper on Thursday morning and pouring through the adds to find the special deals. I would circle them and hand them to the girls when they arrived for Thanksgiving lunch.
Why not have fun with it this year. Make it a family fun day.
