Balancing Act: How Much is Too Much When Responding to a Lead?

It can be difficult to discern how much response is appropriate when you receive a lead from your online resources. We all know that some response in a timely matter is necessary but what about follow-ups? We don't want to enter the realm of the annoying "telemarketer" bombarding someone's email constantly or calling all the time but then again we don't want to send a cold email and never send anything again and hope they reach back out to you. The balancing act is responding to your leads efficiently but also doing a follow-up call or email (if that is all you have) to assure that they received the information you sent to them. This way you can help prevent the lead from getting the chills from you and your company. Even if they are just the "nosy neighbors" you look professional for making sure that you relayed the information requested. Not every lead will turn into a sale but each lead can be an opportunity to show how you do business.

, that is always a great question!!   We learn from many leaders / mentors / lead generators, etc... some have very valuable information to pass on.  Why, they are in the trenches doing it.  I have heard it may take up to 12 contacts to get someone off the fence.  The best line I have heard when a potential lead is being worked for conversion, is "Do not mistake my passion for something obnoxious."

You are so right Larry Atkins.   The proper response to an online lead can become a deal or a referral if answered the right way.
