ASK AN AMBASSADOR: If You'd Have Told Me Five Years Ago...
When you first start out on ActiveRain there's just no way of really understanding or predicting where this community can take you. Sure you can have a Rainer tell you all about it, but I don't know that it's possible to FULLY comprehend until you've been there and done that for a bit.
If you'd have told me five years ago that I'd learn enough from our Rain friends to totally gut and build a Wordpress site from scratch, I'd have thought you were nuts. (Sure there's always more to do there, but it's working for us!)
If you'd have told me five years ago that I'd be able to help my brokerage owner build a Wordpress site to recruit agents, I'd have been more than a little skeptical. But thanks to what I've learned here, the basic tools were available and I knew how to use them.
If you'd have told me five years ago that we'd have a presence across multiple social media venues that would be bringing us business, you'd have probably got a SUUUUUUUURRRRRE!!!
If you'd have told me five years ago that we'd meet dozens of Rainers and ALWAYS feel like we were meeting a friend and not a stranger, well I'd have probably been skeptical of that too.
If you'd have told me five years ago that writing a post a day would be routine, I might not have believed you. But it HAS become routine. The more you blog, the more readily ideas come to mind.
If you'd have told me five years ago that we'd have significantly grown our business thanks to niche blogging, I'd have probably asked "What's a niche?". And while our niche isn't the biggest source of our business, it's been more than a small incremental change and continuing to grow.
The Cliffs Notes version, ActiveRain is what we allow it to be for us. Put work into it, learn, execute, build relationships, and the reward IS out there. Just be patient and don't expect overnight success!
Yep, I can see it all pretty clearly now!
