Brunswick County Association of REALTORS® releases October 2015 statistics

SUPPLY, N.C. – Brunswick County’s residential real estate market continued to move in a positive direction in October, showing a considerable increase in sales and average prices in 2015 compared to the previous year according to statistics released today by the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS®.

“October was another great month for residential sales,” said Cynthia Cumbie, CEO of the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS®. “Units sold continue to outpace last year, and the average sales price continues to trend upward.”

Total sales jumped 20 percent between October 2014 and 2015 from $52.9 million to $63.5 million.

The number of units sold rose 16 percent, going from 222 in October 2014 to 258 this past October, according to the association’s report. The average sales price rose 3.4 percent, going from $238,274 to $246,294. The number of listings in October dropped slightly, from 355 last year to 352.

Brunswick County’s lot sales saw a bit of a surge between October 2014 and 2015, with nearly 3 percent more lots sold and an almost 22 percent increase in sales prices.

Cumbie said the market’s upward trend is a good sign that Brunswick may soon be a “seller’s market,” with less than 10 months’ worth of inventory now for sale, compared to 16 months in October 2012.
