Paonia Eagles Football Advances to Third Straight Championship Game 2015

Paonia Eagles Football Advances to Third Straight Championship Game 2015This wasn't an easy game for the Paonia Eagles. They traveled to Fort Collins and played the Resurrection Christian Cougars. The Eagles are use to dominating a game, and they didn't take the lead in this one until very late in the 4th quarter. There was about four minutes left in the game when Paonia finally took the lead. The final score is 21 - 15. This was the semi finals game.

Paonia will travel again next week (Nov. 28) for the final game of the Division 1A Championship Series. This is the big game. The one that determines which team will be the division champions. Paonia will take on Buena Vista in Buena Vista. Game times are normally at 1pm, but check with the schools to confirm. No game times have been posted yet.

It was a great game, Sharon Lee , and unfortunately I had to listen to most of it on the radio. So this picture is from last week's game. Paonia finally met a match for them and had to work hard to win. They did. I might travel for the state game, but probably not.

Hi, William Feela ...We have a very strong team in Paonia, but in a county of only 29K people there isn't much recruitment. If I was going to train a player during the off season, I would have that kid cutting, hauling and stacking firewood. LOL.

It was a nail biter for me, Evelyn Johnston ...I mean I really follow this team. I'm glad they finally pulled it out. I normally travel to their games when they are in Paonia, but this one was six to seven hours away. I couldn't make that trip. So I had to listen on the radio.
