Season's Greetings!

A favorite past time around this time of year is driving through neighborhoods looking for some outstanding holiday displays. Here are our favorites in no particular order. Pack up your thermos with some hot chocolate, turn on the Christmas music and enjoy!

Archer St. in San Elijo Hills has rows upon rows of lights as you drive down this long street a block away from the village of San Elijo Hills in San Marcos, CA. When you arrive to the cul de sac you will see 8 houses all going off simultaneously with music that matches. There are directions posted as to which FM channel to tune to to watch the synchronized show and it's just amazing.  Just make sure you dim your lights and remember to turn them back on as you're leaving the neighborhood. Shout out to our San Elijo Hills neighbors!! You're so awesome!

*WE JUST HAD TO ADD IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD* Do not miss Venzano while you're touring San Elijo Hills. You'll see homes covered in lights, strung from house to house and even hanging over the streets. It's really impressive! To get to Venzano, head south on Questhaven Road and turn left on Windriver. There are lots of cul-de-sacs to drive around. Keep an eye on your speed, many neighbors are out walking with kids enjoying the sights.

Lone Jack and Rancho Santa Fe in Olivenhain which is the eastern part of Encinitas. These are gorgeous large custom homes with some outstanding lights and displays on almost every home in the neighborhood. There are 3 streets that off shoot from Lone Jack so you can explore the entire neighborhood with your running lights on or you can get out and walk. Usually somebody is selling hot chocolate on their driveway. Lots of cheer in this happy place.

Christmas Card Lane in Torrey Highlands, around Oviedo St in San Diego off of Carmel Mountain Road. The holiday garage projections are outstanding. There's even a mini railroad. Also featured are new characters like Big Hero 6, Spiderman and the Ninja Turtles. The holidays are alive and well in this fantastic San Diego neighborhood.

This one is not in North San Diego County, it's out in East County, however it's a childhood favorite of my wife's so we're including it. Pepper Drive in El Cajon is a legendary long windy road with other streets off of it joining in on the holiday fun. Be overcome with the Christmas spirit as you drive around looking at the houses that often feature displays that connect the homes together. Weekends can be a parking lot but it's so worth it! Even though there are no HOA rules specifically stating that you must participate, almost everyone does. In fact we just sold a house to a buyer in that neighborhood who specifically wanted that area for the holiday lights that she has fond childhood memories of too. It's amazing.

The holiday spirit is strong in San Diego even though we don't have the snow. The beauty of holiday lights in this part of the country is you can get out of your car and walk around and not get frostbite. Hopefully you take some time out of your busy schedule to grab the kids, jump in the car and check out these neighborhoods in 2015.

Happy Holidays Everyone, from Our Family to Yours!
