Thanks for stopping by and taking time out of your day to read my post. My intent is to put a smile on your face. Hopefully you’ll go away with some information you may have forgotten about or did not know. Now sit back and enjoy.
Henry Brown does that name ring a bell? Probably not but let me tell you a little story. Henry Brown was a slave his wife and children were sold and shipped away to another state in 1848. He resolved to be united with his family so what did he do? Why he along with help from a free black and a white shopkeeper he wedged himself into a three by two wooden box and had himself shipped from Philadelphia to Richmond. The trip took 27 hours thus proving that love conquers all. After the war in 1875 he had a stage act in which he showed the audience how he shipped himself with the same wooden box he escaped in. I do not know what has happened to the box but I thought it was a neat story. He is better known as Henry “Box” Brown.
