Saturday Smiles: Watching Clouds Go By Or Letting Someone Just Be!

We have had spectacular cloud shows lately.  On the mountainside we have a clouds appear and disappear, and on the ocean side it has been clear.  Today, the opposite is true!

Metaphorically clouds in someone's life can be negative moments in their lives.  Recently, we read a critical comment of someone tagging another for not having the same beliefs they held.  I am sure it was well intended to move them from what that person saw as the "dark side" according to the truths they held.

"The thing to do, it seems to me is to prepare yourself so you can be a rainbow in somebody else's cloud.  Somebody who may not look like you. May not call God the same name you call God --if they call God at all.  They may not dance your dances or speak your language.  But be a blessing to somebody.  That's what I think."--Maya Angelou--

We wish you lots of Saturday Smiles!

Amen! I like your post about the clouds and the meaning behind perceptions by others regarding negativity. Personally, I'm so sick of how people throw out that "N," word - Negativity. I find it to be the most offensive word in the English Language because most people don't even understand the definition and they are quick to judge.

I consider you both to be a blessing in my life.

Endre Barath, Jr. I was annoyed because it was a preaching message to a commenter.  In this day and age or religious turmoil and people getting killed in the name of whatever God they believe in, it was uncalled for...OK, I could have let it go, but Maya Angelou's quote was a reminder, that we should all be more open to other's points of view.  A

Ron and Alexandra- I love what Maya Angelou said.  It's so easy for us to get caught up in proving people wrong or different that we forget to focus on the positive.

I'm glad I missed the comment and the post. It saddens me to see how some people react so poorly to someone's point of view. Goodness, can't we learn to get along and respect one another -  Argh.

Debb Janes in our opinion, not preaching and trying to enforce one's point of view sometimes makes for a faster transformation, if that is what is needed for an individual.  I just love Maya Angelou, she gave us so many wise words.
