Is Business Slowing Or Have You Slowed Down Searching For It?

By

I’m hearing rumbling online about business having slowed. There’s always business out there, and what one needs to do is find it.  Find it online and offline. Find it in places you didn’t expect to find it.

Marketing online is a staple now on the marketing menu. Analyze the inventory in your marketplace, and market to the Avatar for the section of inventory that you’ve selected. Who will buy that home? Who is that buyer, and what describes him?

There is always inventory to market. One can market without having the position of being a listing agent. If your area has Active Adult Communities, market to that buyer.  If there is a subdivision of first time buyer homes, decide what keyword phrases that buyer would be using in their Google box.

Land is an entity that we have in our inventory, and there’s a variety that ranges from single, buildable lots to large tracts of undeveloped, unapproved land.  There are many keyword phrases that will make our phones ring by builders and developers.

Business is everywhere. One only needs to reach out and grab it.

Barbara, business is out of control here in my expanded market; from Lafayette to New Orleans. If November close transaction were good December and now moving into January will be off the hook. Keep swinging you can get the ball in the hole if you don't try.

During my 19 years in your business I saw dozens of agents who simply sat down and did nothing from the Friday before Thanksgiving until after January 1. The excuse was "Nobody wants to buy or sell a house during the holidays."

If you know of builders who would like to invest in Marlborough CT, my friend's parents are selling 23 acres... and according to her, they are approved buildable lots....800 feet of road frontage.

I am already trying to connect to builders here.

I agree. There is always business out there. For these last two months, we just need to stay focused and motivated. Life doesn't stop for the holidays. Thanks for the inspiration.

Barbara Todaro it's usual for agents to find an excuse for not working! And that's good for those who take their share, too - and get busier.

I was at an appraisal yesterday, negotiated an accepted offer yesterday, am doing a bunch of mailings/computer stuff/lead follow-ups today,am showing multi-family homes to an investor tomorrow, and have an inspection scheduled for Thursday. There is definitely business out there, even now.

I have some listings, and I can see a slow down in the showing activity of these listings. As far as buyers are concerned, I have seen them hunkering down for the season as well, hoping to find that perfect home after the holidays. I'm always looking for the next lead and opportunity, though.

Nothing drives me nuts more than folks who say there is no business then you ask them what they are doing and they are doing nothing I'm blown away they think it will just "happen"

I don't think it is slowing, but it seems that way.  I think it is due to low inventories, at least in my area.  Not only that, more and more people are becoming agents, so the ratio of listing to agents may go down a little bit, so you have to stay on top of things.

I keep hearing about the seasonality.  News flash!  I have more business than I should be able to handle right now.  I have one of the hottest listings in town on the market right now and I put two in escrow last week.  Y'all keep talking about seasonality and I'm going to go pay for a trip to Maui!
