Life is Short. Unplug!
How did we get to this point in life that this is impossible for most? Stop by Pats blog and leave her a well deserved comment!
Sitting quietly this morning before church, all that can be heard is the tick-tock-tick of the persistent wall clock, and the peculiar creaks and groans of this old house, with the occasional car passing by.
I'm visiting Mom this Thanksgiving weekend, and there is no Internet connection or nearby cell phone tower. The television is powered off. The quiet allows for a few moments of introspection.
With outside forces constantly pushing and pulling us in opposite directions, this "electronic break" gives the brain and body a change to recharge. Silently I listen to my inner voice.
Quiet reflection, meditation, peaceful enjoyment . . . a break from the hectic pace of our personal and professional lives and all the noise, clutter, and chaos; it is refreshing, no it is ESSENTIAL, to let ones mind rest.
Life is short. Unplug!
