If you are receiving lots of recruiting emails, post cards and letters, you may be tempted to ask them to take you off their list of potential recruits. You may be tempted to give them a piece of your mind because they are relentless about recruiting you.
Okay, get a little angry if you must. But, I think, there is a much better, more profitable way to deal with these pesky recruiters. Here's how. Save every recruiting post card, letter and email you receive and place them in a presentation binder by company. You can use them in your listing presentation to eliminate any competing agents from that company during a listing interview.
The next time you are in competition for a listing with an agent from a firm that has been trying to recruit you, pull out the letter. Show it to your potential client. It demonstrates that even your competition thinks you are a great agent. Then say something like, "They have been trying to recruit me for a long time. However, I feel I can offer you better service where I'm at now. That's why I don't take them up on their offer." Watch how fast your potential listing client signs your listing agreement.
So, instead of tossing all of those recruiting letters and post cards in the trash, use them as a referance and grab more business.
