Birds in My Neighborhood

The last nest of birds to fledge I missed but.....was out about 6:30 am that morning and one of the babies was sitting on the fence. I quietly watched for what seemed to be a long while and then one of the parents landed beside the little one. Then they both flew off together. Afterwards the 3 babies would come back to the nest and then fly off like it was their safe haven. I was sorry to move and leave my black phoebe family.

Yes, it is so amazing to see these birds. I missed my family of phoebes so very excited to know they are in this community also. Wish I knew where their nest was.

One thing I forgot to mention is that they come onto my patio and block garden wall every morning and hunt for insects which is a terrific way to keep the bugs away!

Amazingly enough they were more interested in my dogs on the other side of the   slider so they just sat there singing loudly and driving my dogs nuts!

I read where they are from South America and primarly in Washington and Oregon so maybe they are migration south.

Yes it is sometimes very difficult when they do not want to stay put. They didn't see me come in from the side as they were looking at the dogs instead.
