The globe is called the "Unisphere" and was part of the 1964 World's Fair. The globe is a 12-story high structure made of steel. The Unisphere represented the theme of global interdependence. This amazing piece of sculpture can be seen in movies and TV shows such as "Tomorrow Land," "Men In Black," and "King Of Queens." If you have never seen the Unisphere in person, it's worth a trip.

Laura, I thought so from watching the movie Men In Black.  Quite a landmark.

Laura, I remember going to that World's Fair!  I didn't realize that was still there.

The unisphere still looks grand more than 50 years later - and I guess that's one definition of good art!
