I Love You, Baby…

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Daytona Condo Realty, 386-405-4408

When I go to my Home page, I am always thrilled when I see that someone has chosen to follow me. I never had a lot of followers, and each new is valued a lot. I noticed that after AR added those likes, where you can sort of participate without doing much more than clicking “like”, the number of followers started growing. I probably got about a hundred of new followers in the last year alone, if not more...

Majority of my new subscribers are very different from the subscribers of the “before”. They decided to follow, but I have never seen them commenting on any of my post. And I do not even see them "liking" anything, whether a post, or a comment... I do not quite understand why they are following me.

Actually, I am not sure they are following me at all, it is more like all those meaningless “friendships” on Social Media.

Not that it bothers me, it simply surprises me. It is not what I believe following is. I do not comment on those I follow every time they post something, because it would be impossible, even though I am “stingy”, and I only follow 63 people.

I understand that it is not a marriage, but it is still some sort of commitment, isn’t it? Even if you only do it for the purpose of having these names handy when you click “Blog” so that you do not miss their blog posts, but I doubt these “followers” really follow me.

It is like saying "I love you, baby..." and next minute forgetting about us.

Do they get points for love subscribing? Is there any reason? Does it happen to you?

Jon - I always forget to go look at who might be following me, but I do add people to my list now and then.

So many kinds of love - Your title made me think of what I say every day to the spirit of the puppy we lost in May. Oh how we miss him, but he's alive in our hearts.

Jon Zolsky, Daytona Beach, FL Yes; this phenomenon definitely happens to us and I am sure to everyone in the social-media game. We just worry about the things we can effect and not the items we cannot. Have a great day in Daytona!
