What could get me out of Real Estate?

OK I am probably in Real Estate for life, but I wanted to share a project with you that is very personal and is on Kickstarter.

Go to my Kickstarter Page

Back when I was a teenager I played a lot of Dungeons and Dragons; this is back when D&D was very controversial. Some people contacted me through some friends to play the game. I played with them and they wrote an article on game – very critical.

(I want to say I agree with much of the criticism, but find today that many video games are far worse with seemingly less concern.)

In my discussions with some of the writers we discussed the fact that it was a very creative game with many positive aspects; and rather than criticize that maybe we should make something better that addressed a lot of the issues.

The results of that conversation is Hidden Kingdom – a Role Playing Game based on King Arthur and his knights.

Hidden Kingdom Arthurian Role Playing Game

We had a limited print run – but had designed the game without a lot of wise business consideration in terms of cost and market. In short our production cost were to high for what we could retail the game for. The game went on to become a minor classic in the gaming community and a hard to find collectors item. I often see it going for as much as $200.00 on line.

Well through a series of incidents I was motivated to do a 2nd printing and got the rights to do so. \I scanned the entire game and reformatted it with a modern type face and and easier to manage 8.5 x 11 format.

It is now on Kickstarter. Now I realize this is not for all of you. But I can still use your help. Kickstarter is like any other Blogging platform. SEO is critical or in this case getting driven to the top of the Kickstarter game page. Any shares or likes I get on social media are critical. Please share and like this post on social media as well as the project itself.

Best of luck to you from a fellow D&D player.  I found a group out here in Simi Valley that meets weekly.  It's been a long time since I played in person, mostly been on the computer/console with Baulder's Gate and Neverwinter Nights.  Now if only rolling a D20 would save a transaction...

I have not played in a long time.  I do like designing games.

So Gene Riemenschneider are you saying you wouldn't mind being a game creator or a knight? Either one would be pretty cool. I myself would like to have Bob's electronics and junk repair shop but there is no money in it with today's "disposable world".

Bob "RealMan" Timm What's funny is I am so tired of working on the game I do not like to play it.  My kids love it.

I have one grandson is very into the science fiction and fantasy thing. Plays a lot of games and reads a lot of books, even plays some magic card game. He's pretty smart, and I've not noticed anything like this have any negative impact on him all, quite the reverse, he's in his late 20s now, and is doing really well with a great head on his shoulders shaped by his hobbies.

Captain Wayne - Rowlett Real Estate School I think a couple of the issues were some kids get so involved they don't have a real life (you see this with video games too) and the focus on violence in problem solving.  But as I noted there are a lot of good things in the games including creativity and social interaction (which we do not get on line).

Endre Barath, Jr. I don't expect to get rich.  My Kickstarter Campaign is not going to make it.  But the good news is it helped me network with a bunch of people and I have come up with better production pricing and options.  I will try again.
