I don't blog often but when I do you know something caught my craw, or I had a huge "AHA" moment to share. This little gem was priceless to me so I thought I'd share.
Want to put an end the retail stores needing your email address to do business? This will work for gmail accounts. Give them an email address that includes a "+" sign in it. What that does is allows you to filter out any mail with that in it. Gmail doesn't acknowledge anything after the "+" sign. For instance, I can give them cherilong+retail@gmail.com and it will still come to me but I can filter out all the unnecessary emails quickly and conveniently. Yes, I know, you can give them a second email account that all junk goes into but you still have to maintain that account too. Make it easy on yourself and have it all in one account and use this simple strategy.
What, you don't have an gmail account? Hmmm, let me know if this works on yahoo or msn accounts. Otherwise, you'll have to figure out if switching is worth the time you spend maintaining different accounts. With gmail you can point it into another mail account as I have mine going into my outlook account. It follows me anywhere.
