Selling Your Home? Throw a Party!

By
Real Estate Agent with Colorado Realty Professionals

When it comes time to sell a home, Seller's ALWAYS ask, What should I do to get ready?  A great answer to this is the topic of a recent post on my Denver Real Estate blog.

Short of paint, carpet and the remodeling of Kitchens and Baths, the simple answer is to get your home ready like you were throwing a party!

How do you want your guests buyers to see your home?  How would you like these guests buyers to feel after they have left?

If you can instinctively answer these questions, then you're on the right track.  If not, then call in a professional stager to help!  My stager of choice is Elaine Manes

Bob, if more sellers thought of preparing their homes as as though for for a party, many homes would be easier to sell...

Bob;

    For one thing, I'm not the least bit surprised that a blog with the wording throw a party and Elaine Manes would be in the same posting.  Elaine is reason enough for a party!  How fortunate you both are to have one another to work with.  As to the throw a party idea...I've been seeing it go even a step further...people are "literally throwing a party" at open house day.  Food, entertainment, all in an effort to make their home stand out amongst the sea of other for sale homes.  In fact, today I had contact from the designer with the new show Date My House appearing on TLC.  I'll admit it's a bit hokey...as it's hosted by a former Bachelor participant and everyone receives a rose on entering the home, but I love the niche marketing concept.  I'm awaiting the okay from the show's producer for her to be a guest on the radio show.  The concept is you have to do more to market your home in today's market and I love it when the sellers become as pro-active as can be to get the job done!  This is a wonderful post explaining the fact that it is money well spent to make certain your home shows better then its competition.

Cheers!

Okay, I confess, I thought you were actually proposing throwing a party as a marketing ploy.  Might not be a bad one!
