Hella Rothwell and Homes on Big Island

For a few years now, I have looked for an agent on Big Island to show me homes. I am getting to the point this year where it makes sense to buy a second home there, given the amount of time I spend on Big Island. Of course, I would love to just retire in Hawaii but my husband is not so convinced that this is the best place in America to live like I am. So a second home is probably a good compromise.

Hella Rothwell has been a great help in helping to narrow the possibilities of homes that would fit my parameters and quirks and, yesterday, I finally got to meet her. She is every bit as wonderful and fun as she seems, and very knowledgeable about Big Island real estate. Aloha, Elizabeth --- what an adventure in viewing and selling real estate!   A plane trip plus five hours to see just three homes but a chance to see a coffee farm.   Here's to finding the ideal second home in Hawaii.

The coffee farm was really interesting, but the climb up the road would just kill me. Plus my husband, although he loves to garden, says he doesn't want to be commanded to garden, LOL.

I actually owned a couple lots on the Big Island, and had plans to build there.  If my family hadn't grown up while life kept happening while I had other plans, I probably would have followed through.  But now, home is where my family is!

Elizabeth, it was such a joy to spend the day with you yesterday exploring the hillsides of south Kona. I wish your hubby agrees with house #3 because it has a spare bedroom that I would not mind occupying every now and again, view or no view. It's just up the hill from some of the most wonderful beaches and, yes, Huggo's on the Rocks, my all time favorite hangout place at the Ocean. Hope you don't mind, but I'm going to reblog your post!
