In the Northeast Georgia Mountains we have an assortment of creek front, riverfront properties around Hiawassee, Blairsville and Blue Ridge, Georgia. The descriptive terms or nouns that are used to define these bodies of water concerning" Real Estate" are used for a purpose. It seems that the terminology is so broad that people can call any flowing stream of water whatever they please.
In the Northeast Georgia Mountains; these are my descriptions and terms about naturally flowing water:
River : water that is usually wide and deep in places and supports fishing and swimming.
Creek : you can not cross this with out getting at least your feet wet!
Branch: This is a small flow of water that you can hop or step across.
As I mentioned earlier in this blog, all of these terms are broad in nature and can be used in whatever way you see fit. This is how I call 'em!
