We still have a few days to go and for some, maybe a few weeks before we take down that tree but you might also already be dealing with the mess of some Christmas Trees. Some trees produce copious amounts of needles and mess and you don't want that lying around when your guests come to visit.
Having a real tree in your home for the Christmas season is something glorious. Few things can replace having a real tree in your home for the Christmas season. The beauty of branches and the fresh pine smell that fills your home is the centerpiece of a home’s Christmas décor, but having a real tree also comes with quite the mess especially when you are bringing in your tree or taking it out after Christmas is long gone.
There will undoubtedly be a trail of needles to give evidence of which way the tree was carried in or out of your home. Your carpet will quickly grab on and hug those needles tightly and they can be a little bit frustrating to pull free from your carpet fibers. This is why we have put together a few pine needle carpet clean up tips for you to get your floors sparkling and be able to enjoy your tree.
Naturally when there is debris in your carpet your first instinct is to grab the indoor vacuum. You will need to approach vacuuming Pine needles out of carpet very carefully.If you have a high quality vacuum you can attempt to vacuum them out of the carpet after you have sprinkled the needles with baking soda. We suggest you only do this if you have a high-quality high suction vacuum that can stand up to the needles as well as make sure you get all of the baking soda out of your flooring. It is best to use the attachment hose on Pine needles instead of just the vacuum head with the brush. You may find that the brush head of the vacuum just displaces the needles into a different spot instead of help to pull them out of the carpeting.
Once you have sucked up all of the Pine needles you can with your vacuum, your next plan of action should be to go out to the garage or wherever you keep your tools and other hardware supplies and reach for the duct tape. Wrap the duct tape around your hand sticky side out just as if you would for removing lint from clothes with masking tape. Gently dab the tape wrapped hand over the carpet that is full of needles. The duct tape will grab on to the needles and pull them away from the grasp of your carpet fibers.
With these two needle nabbing tricks your carpet should be free of the pesky pine remnants in no time and you can do one more round of vacuuming to get your floors in top shape so that you can move on to decorating and enjoying your beautiful tree and holiday festivities.
