We spent two days at the lovely Hacienda Cusin in Otovalo, Ecuador before departing for the Galapagos Islands, and among the things we experienced was a visit to Parque Condor, a raptor rehabilitation facility located on the slopes of the Imbaburra volcano.
I was particularly excited to see a Harpy Eagle - we had looked for those fierce predators on our Amazon trip the year before. They prey on tree sloths but are rarely seen - only one of our guides had ever seen one in the wild.

We also got to see owls, hawks, Andean eagles, a Bald Eagle, and the iconic Condor.

In addition to seeing dozens of raptor species, we were treated to an exhibition of Falconry, using birds that live permanently at the center.
