The annual flyover celebrating the anniversary of the first time powered flight was achieved will be on Thursday, Dec17, 2015 at the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills. On this day back in 1903, the Wright brothers, Wilbur & Orville, made history in their airplane. To pay tribute to this achievement, the National Park Service will hold a formal ceremony starting at 9am and there are activities throughout the day.
The real fun starts at 10:35am when the military flys in. What they will be flying is always a surprise but if you like watching military planes fly low and slow, this will be the place to be. They make a pass directly over top of the memorial and into the wind with a line on the runway, so find a seat accordingly.
