Pay it Forward: It's a Wrap!
Growing up destitute, we awoke to many Christmas mornings without gifts under the tree for the older ones in our family of eight children. An orange, an apple or a few nuts at the bottom of a sock were still appreciated because we knew the true meaning of the season.
There are so many children in communities around the the world who may not have items under the tree. Coins for Kids volunteers collect donations, shop, wrap and deliver the gifts to financial needy families. All this while knowing that children will be filled with sheer joy on Christmas!
They brought gifts to my boys the Christmas of 1996 after my youngest son had lung surgery. As a single parent, I had to take time off from work to care for him during his recovery. I quit my job with the advice from the doctor, moved to St. George, Utah for warmer weather and cleaner air.
Though, I loved my advertising position, it was the best decision ever made, moving closer to my parents and grandparents. My son gained the full use of his left lung eventually, thanks to the amazing weather and no inversions during winter months. We also grew to love what the area offers.
Coins for Kids is a non-profit charity that raises money in order to provide Christmas for so many financially challenged families. I help wrap the gifts now every year in order to 'pay it forward' for the gifts my children received that year. I hope to make a difference in a family's Christmas experience!

Merry Christmas all, may you be happy, healthy and loved!
