This is definitely a great time of year from many perspectives. I love spending time with family, friends, business associates. I love spending time in the office as well. The office is quiet as most agents tend to work from home especially during the holidays. I almost lapsed into reciting The Night Before Christmas but refrained at the last moment.
Most real estate agents don't realize that quality time spent working year round prevents the dips and bounds in production levels that are very common in the industry. Working on your business is just as important as working in your business. A yearly review of past sales, contracts gone bad, opportunities lost is a great starting point to building a stronger business plan for the next year. A review of marketing efforts as well as the expense incurred is also the start of prepping for tax time. I really do encourage all my co workers to do a business plan as the start to the New Year, waiting until January 1 is a little late, trust me. Developing SMART goals this way is smart. Contact me if you don't recognize the SMART goal reference.
