Facebook Professional Services is in the testing phase right now, and it can have big implications for local businesses such as Real Estate Agents.

You can check Facebook Professional Services out here.  The selections are tied to Facebook business page categories and display businesses with star ratings.  Facebook Professional Services has not been officially announced by Facebook and is not available on mobile as of yet.

What do Facebook Professional Services mean for your business?

Make sure your Facebook page information is accurate.  Facebook Professional Services limits searches to predefined business page categories. It is important that your page is classified into the correct categories and have up to date information.  To change the information on your Facebook business page Go to your page -> about ->   

Proceed to edit your information under "Page Info"

Once verified, your business page will have the grey or blue checkmark next to its name.

How can you improve your page's ranking in Facebook Professional Services search results?

Aside from having your page verified and accurate information completed, it seems as if the search results are biased towards engagement and star ratings. This means that you should solicit reviews for your page from satisfied clients and/or provide interesting content.  Once Facebook rolls professional services out to mobile, it could be a viable alternative to Yelp which allows you to geolocate and review businesses around you.

Do I have to pay to have my Facebook page listed?

As of right now the service is 100% free. This may change in the future as Facebook may charge businesses to be featured or appear at the top of the professional services search results.
