Real Estate Broker/Owner with Century 21 Sherlock Homes

Winter curb appeal?  I know, I know, we all think curb appeal is very important but just what does winter curb appeal have to do with anything.

Well actually it is just as important as spring or summer curb appeal especially in the northern sections of the Country.  I am making an impromptu list of some things to entice buyers in and please feel free to add any I may have missed

1. Sparkling clean windows.

2. Freshly painted or just washed front door.

3. Leaves removed.

4. Clean walkways and driveways.

5. A seasonal wreath on that clean door.

6. Sanitation and recycle cans tucked away.

7. Toasty warm air the minute that front door opens.

8. No pet remnants, outside or inside.

Please remember that in January the market picks up and you want to stand out from the crowd.

Hi Liz -- people buy homes year-round so your advice for winter curb appeal only needs some rather minor seasonal adjustments to make those very important first impressions matter.   Good post.

Liz, the winter mess of leaves and dirty windows is no excuse not to manage and maintain a sparkling clean home. Indeed it takes daily work ... but it is well worth it.

Good reminders Liz. I love seeing sparkling windows. Total curb appeal means so very much. It can be a turn on or turn off. Good to see you here. Hope you are having a good day.

Liz- winter can be a messy time of year depending upon where you live.  It's a good reminder that curb appeal still counts in the winter.

Great ideas.  I usually ask for a comfortable temperature and some relaxing music--playing very low in the background

Having pansies planted can help put some punch on the curb appeal.  They don't survive in all of the climates, but they can take some cold temps.
