Let's Face It: Agents Are Sort Of Like Politicians (PART II)

Services for Real Estate Pros with PropertyMinder, Inc.

5) Increase traffic to your official headquarters (your website).
Sometimes worthwhile candidates don’t get enough media coverage.

You might be asking yourself: What's Wrong With My Website? Why Isn't It Being Found?

Take a deep breath. We’ve broken it all down for you.

We also hosted 2 exclusive SEO webinars in 2015.
You can access a recording via Dropbox: “How To Make A Google-Friendly Website”.  (If you’d also like a copy of the accompanying SEO checklist and tips, just let us know and we’ll send you one.)

If you haven’t noticed, we love sharing easy and clear-cut “how-tos” and lists about things that actually matter.

6) You need to sound and look “electable”.
Similar to any elected official, appearance and grooming is important. This includes your website. You need to make it a place worth staying.

So, before you start rallying online supporters, make sure you cover these vital (quick!) website must-dos. Everything about your business should be easy to find, easy-to-use, and easy on the eyes. No broken links. No dead pages. No typos. No weird formatting.

Jump on one of our Advanced Website Editing webinars for interactive examples and demos. Don't let the "Advanced" characterization intimidate you, either. Our hosts are down-to-earth and ready to answer any questions you have.

7) Keep a collection of authentic “soundbites”.

Although testimonials alone won’t guarantee you success, these words may be the final nudge folks need to respond and fully engage with you. An excerpt from one of our popular ActiveRain blog posts reminds us: “Domain names can be forgotten. Emails can be deleted. Our words can last forever.

Reach out to 4-5 successful clients from 2015 and ask for brief testimonials.
Even if it’s a simple phrase or a few pleasant words, get their permission to highlight it/them on your website. It’ll add up, trust us.

8) Shake some hands, kiss some babies. Earn referrals via savvy marketing.

The average person knows 3 real estate agents. What are you doing to outshine the other 2 and earn the referrals you deserve?

Organizing contacts in your CRM and adopting a trickle down strategy are a good start.
The K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) principle can also work wonders.

But most importantly: you need to keep in mind that referrals are the bi-product of a strong relationship, top-of-mind awareness, and trust in your service. As another guest blog points out: “It’s not ‘who you know’ but ‘how well they know you’”.

At the end of the campaign trail, running your business as a unique independent
with the right political mindset, you will
ultimately gain the popular vote
and (like Rudolph) go down in history.

Thanks for the links to your posts. Not sure I like the politician analogy, lol.

Thanks, Olga Simoncelli! We hope the guidance accompanying the links helps everyone out as we segue into 2016!

The analogous approach and correlations are meant to get folks thinking: the agent-politician connection isn't necessarily negative. It's also an (albeit unspoken) truth about the business, if you stop and think about it.

The words "politician" and "politics" have sadly (and pervasively) become used in a pejorative sense. It's high time we break stereotypes by illustrating strengths and the "bright side" of these words, their empowering parallels to real estate and their general, inherent meaning.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Hope you have a great rest of your week!
