If you have not been to Kissimmee Lakefront Park in recent years, you are missing out on an exceptional local experience! This park has had a dramatic revamping in the past few years.
For those who are not that familiar with the area, this world class waterfront park is located in beautiful historic downtown Kissimmee along the shores of scenic Lake Tohopekaliga. It has become the go to place, and for very good reasons. When you think of Kissimmee Lakefront Park, think family, think romance, this relaxation, think fun!
So what changed? Let's look at a few things:
First of all, the park used to be MUCH smaller with very little to offer besides a park for kids and a walk way or two. Now, walkers, joggers, skateboarders, rollerbladers and more can enjoy the expansive walkways that were built around this entire park. Plenty of room for everyone! It's a beautiful place to take an evening stroll and watch the birds and even alligators sometimes too! You'll find beautiful native plants and native materials throughout the park. Don't forget to check out the historical plaques that were added throughout the park that tell visitors about the area's history too!
Pavilions! There are several charming rentable pavilions that were built in a turn-of-the-20th-century
style with tin roofs and wooden ceilings. These pavilions are perfect venue to host your next birthday party, baby shower, graduation party, engagement party, anniversary party, or even a small wedding reception! The views are worth it!
The park also offers many BBQ grills for quick yummy family reunions. Dont' worry about where to sit, aside from many family bench areas, the park also has plenty of green grass space to lay a blanket down and have a picnic. All around, you'll encounter families enjoying a game of Frisbee or small friendly soccer match. Other are flying their kites or drones. Meanwhile, others take great pleasure in sitting on the benches around the park or lawn chairs situated in front of the lake, either enjoying a book or just starring out relaxing at the sight of light waves in the lake, th swaying of the trees, the chirping of the birds, or even the clouds or stars in the sky.
Men, you will score big points if you bring your lady out for a stroll! There are several trees scattered around the park where romantic picnics are held. During the day you can walk hand in hand around the glistening lake, or at night underneath the star filled sky. You can stop and sit along on the interior sea wall along the lake and enjoy the tranquil scenery in front of you as you talk about your future. Take a romantic stroll over to the lighthouse or enjoy the beautiful theatrical-lighting system that changes colors throughout the night. Guys, you just cant lose!
The marina is incredible as well. Boat ramps are easily accessible for boating, kayaking, jet skiing or just plain old fishing.
Parents, are you tired of hearing, "I'm bored!" from the kiddos? Well, Kissimmee Lakefront Park offers two playgrounds and a state of the art splash pad water park area, where kids can freshen off during the hot summer among depictions of Florida panthers, gators, birds, boars and even an imitation bald eagle! Let them run, jump, play and burn off energy! And once they are done, walk on over to the concession stand where everyone can enjoy a soda and a hotdog. Not big on concession stands? ok, there are plenty of great eating spots just down the street!

And here's the great part: Parking is FREE! There is free side street parking and parking in a library near the park on weekends. Additionally, there are public restrooms and they are kept very clean.
