Gas Below $2.00 Per Gallon Finally Arrived In CT.

By
Mortgage and Lending with George Souto NMLS #65149 FHA, CHFA, VA Mortgages NMLS #65149

I have been seeing blogs of gas prices dropping below $2.00 per gallon in other parts of the Country.  This past month we finally started to see Gas Below $2.00 Per Gallon Finally Arrived In CT, in fact some of the off brands are even below $1.90

It has been a long time since gas was below $2.00 a gallon in CT., and I do not remember the date gas was last at this price.  But I do know it was three cars ago and the reason I sold my Nisan Xtera.

As glad as I am to see gas drop below $2.00 per gallon again, it is still to high.  I don't expect it to be at 50 cents per gallon when I was a kid, but I do feel it should drop at least another 50 cents per gallon.

In the mean time I am happy to see a steady drop in gas prices, but hope this does not deter us from pursuing other fuel alternatives.  In my opinion the Middle East has already gotten to much of our money, and it is time to stop funding their terrorist activities with our gas and oil money.

Good morning George. I paid $1.78 near my office the other day, hard to believe, but I like it for sure.

Hi George.  Connecticut has awful high state gasoline taxes.  Enjoy the price because it won't last.

Hi George.  We went below $2.00 a gallon only a few weeks ago.  I hope we all enjoy it while it lasts.

George: I paid $1.59 per gallon (regular) yesterday. I heard someone in the office say they paid even less a few days ago. It is good to see gas prices dropping across the country.

Good morning George. This is great to see but I always dissappointed because I have to use premium in my car and that price is always 50 cents more.

Good for you up there in expensive Connecticut! Gas prices are hovering around $1.70 a gallon down here in North Georgia. I am happy to see the gas prices being more reasonable. I remember a car trip from CT to GA in the summer of 2014 when we saw gas prices of $3.19 a gallon in Tennessee and thought that was a great deal! It was almost $4.00 a gallon in CT then.

George, wonder why your gas prices are still so high, ours is even lower.   For mid-grade think I paid $1.83.

Good for you! Not us! Our discount stations are about $2.60 still. And I'm sure they won't get too low before the summer blend shows up.

Hi George... what took you guys in CT so long to get to this party? Ours is at around $1.56 just over the border on the South Carolina side of Charlotte, but I know it gets even cheaper to go further into SC.

Hi George - The other day, I had a 90¢ discount from our supermarket, and gas was $1.49, so I got to go waaaay back in time to when it was 59¢ a gallon - apparently that was 1976.

Hi George

We have a ways to go before we get to that price but it sure has been nice to see it drop again - it went up quite a bit recently after falling steadily. Best I have seen in my area is $2.45/gal

FINALLY George!  We are down to $1.86 and I love it...it is costing incredible amount of job loss in TX and surrounding areas though...it will have a ripple effort eventually even though we in NE love it.

George, at the Costco here in Waterbury it is at $1.71 a gallon.  I don't think it's an off brand either as the delivery trucks that bring it in are from a larger transport company in the New Haven area that delivers to other brand stations as well.

George, low gas prices should be a good thing because it puts more money back into consumers hands who can now spend it on other things.  Yet, it seems to be a "bad" thing according to the stock market which has been in a slump. Paradoxical.
