Here in Northern Nevada the new year will ring in a new Energy Code. The 2012 IECC code will now join the other 2012 codes that have already been adopted. The state mandates we adopt the new energy codes every three years. The current 2009 IECC will still be able to be used during the grace period but that ends Jult 1st 2015.
We test many homes during the year and some of the differenced between the two codes will give some torubles to the builders. The upside is that buyers will own a more efficient, comfortable, heathier, and quieter home.
