I plan on being around for the good people that I have met here. BTW I see that Old Man Winter finally found you!
It feels strange to me when people tell me they're retiring. Now that my kids are gone, the work has become an important part of my life. Good luck to you. Stay in touch. We'd love to hear about your adventures.
Wow, Richard! That is a fascinating announcement.
Salute to you for your successful career in real estate. Now, enjoy your "retirement". Happy New Year!
Happy to see you close out the year with a great opportunity. Let this be a great start to 2016.
Richard, As the Navy saying goes, we wish you "fair winds and following seas"!. You've earned this opportunity and wish you nothing but the best as you enjoy life as it's meant to be. Bill
Richard, I am so happy for you as you set out to write the next chapter. I know that you have many varied interests and I wish you well as you take the time to explore the world more fully (and maybe a little more relaxed)! Happy New Year!
Good luck in your future. And when you get bored, yours is a talent always needed.
Richard - I am wishing you the very best in whatever the future brings you. Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year, and a successful 2016.
Richard Weisser Wishing you all the best for everything...
And I am sure you'll still stick around - now that you are your own Boss, you can blog more!
Happy New Richard. Sounds like a nice move and I'm sure 2016 will be amazing for you.
Richard Weisser Happy New Year to you! We know you will be back. Once in your blood, you can never leave the business!
Good morning Richard,
Hope you have the best time of your life in your new position.
Make yourself a geat day.
Good morning Richard and Happy New Year. The change takes time and brings new adventures for sure. Enjoy.
I'm not really sure what to say! I'm stunned actually. I wish you only the best in your retirement! I hope we'll see you here though. <3

Thank you Bill for those kind words. It was hard to get used to the idea of not going to work every day. After all, I have been working since I was 13. But I have plenty of activities that fill my time and it's really for the best! And I will continue to check in on AR because I have made so many wonderful friendships here and I value that more than you will ever know!

I think Real Estate is in your blood, Robert, and will always be with you, even in retirement. Wishing you lots of fun!
Look forward to reading about your next chapter. You could title it..."Is there life after Real Estate?"
Wishing all the best

Congratulations Richard and I have to say I am a little envious. I have a day like that in mind in teh future and have many items on my to do list that just can't be done while working real estate seven days a week. Enjoy life to the fullest.
Hi Richard - I have read your blogs over the years and enjoyed them. I wish you a very happy next life chapter.
Richard, you look much to young to retire, but I understand retirement doesn't mean you are drawing social security and sitting around. Glad to hear you will be doing the things you couldn't while actively listing and selling real estate! I wish you the best in whatever you do!
Richard I wish you the very best in your retirement. I may be doing this soon as I will be 70 this year... and want to enjoy my family more.
Congratulations on your retirement! Most retirees find they don't have enough hours in the day to do all the things they want to! It'll keep you busy. All the best!
Few real estate agents "retire". Good for you to have the fortitude to make a clean break in order to do all the things you've always wanted to spend your time on. Or the things you never got to do. We all look forward to seeing what they are. Have a great 2016.
Good luck to you Richard on whatever life brings your way in the future. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like when I retire from real estate. It's the only thing I've known the past 17 years and will be my career for quite a long time still to come.
Hi Richard Weisser what a surprise.... I wish you well with your retirement and all the joys that life could possibly bring your way..... I hope you stay in the mix on ActiveRain.... it's totally different when you don't need to address work issues.... I've been retired from the real estate business for 10 years, but I just can't break away.... so I made adjustments.... I blog....
my best to you, Richard....

I wish you the very best in your future adventures... you're clearly way too young to retire... but I hope you find it all that you expect retirement to be.

Richard, All the best to you on the next chapter in your life. You chose a very nice way to end your career at the end of the year with fireworks. May you have a lot of fun and good health chipping away at your bucket list.
Thank you for your wonderful posts along the way here at AR.
Take care.
Richard, oh no! I've got this great friend who is looking for a gazillion dollar home in Newman, Georgia and I was just about to give him your name. OK, making this up. Like I thought it might lure you back! Hope you will continue to share your adventures with us!

Reducing stress was a key element in setting work aside. I will have to learn how to relax for my own well being and it's harder than I thought learning how to do just that!!!

Good luck, Richard. You were one of the first folks I followed and, to this day, the only AR member to ever have called me off the cuff to just say hello. Good luck...and as they say in the US Navy...Fair winds and following seas!
Hi Richard, I'm popping over from Karen's post. Thrilled to hear you will still be blogging in your retirement!
Well Richard, I hope you'll take a day and drive down to my lake and let Donald and I buy you lunch. I am honored that this forum brought you into my life as a colleague and friend.
Hi Richard. I just noticed this post. It is shocking that you have retired from real estate. I hope you are doing well and enjoying life.
Art and Music! I knew we were kindred spirits, Richard. Me, too. Me, too. Pittsburgh breeds artists and musicians, doesn't it? And writers. It's all coming clear to me now. I can't wait to get together again and share some of both with you. How exciting. Here's to a phenomenal next chapter.

I just wrote a members post about you. A tribute to an ActiveRain thought leader and all around nice person.
Richard, I went looking for this blog post of yours, because I am making the same decision as we approach the end of 2016. I am presently going through the mental wrestling and the tossing and turning, as I prepare to make the announcement.
Your words in this post are encouraging and inspiring to me, as I approach "the deadline".
I trust that life is treating you well. Take care.
I'm both envious and happy for you. Best wishes, my friend!
