The Black Eyed Peas , Please !!!

Today is New Years and although I saw Fergie perform last night on TV after the ball drop, Im not referring to the band Black Eyed Peas !

In the South, theres a tradition for eating BEP on New Years Day.

This traditiondates back to the Civil war and is believed to bring prosperity / luck.... I prefer to call it "our blessing to come".

Tonight we have friends coming for dinner and football.

We will have breaded baked chicken salsa, black eyed peas , corn bread, green beans, mixed berry pie and a a mix of finger foods to munch on.....

I walked an hour today with my husband so looking forward to our traditional dinner here in Greenville , North Carolina .
